Wilmington firefighters rescued three pets from an overnight house fire and had to use a pet mask to resuscitate a dog. The fire department says all the animals survived and are doing well. No humans were injured.

A Cleveland County man is facing animal cruelty charges after police say he tried to bury his dog alive. Investigators say the man buried the German shepherd mix's head in a shallow hole and packed its nose and mouth with dirt.

The event was organized by the Hanover Kennel Club an organization started in the 1930's. Today's show was a confirmation show where dogs have to meet high standards set by the American Kennel Club. The dogs must come as close to those standards as possible. In all, there were about 120 breeds of dogs at the show.
