The McDonald’s All-American game rosters are set. NC State, Kentucky and Arizona were the big winners this year. N.C. State placed three players in the game. Kentucky and Arizona have two.

Former NC State head football coach Chuck Amato will be back on the football field this fall. He's going to be joining the coaching staff at Akron. Over the last two seasons the Zips only won twice.

Owen Spencer was back on the sidelines watching the North Brunswick Scorpions on Friday night in Leland. The former Scorpion wide receiver was released from the Seattle Seahawks earlier this week.

Belville's Owen Spencer has been released by the NFL's Tennessee Titans. NFL teams have to trim their rosters to 80 by Tuesday afternoon. There will be more cuts prior to the start of the regular season.

Wilmington native Tommy Kane is going to have to purchase a larger trophy case. The former WWAY sports intern won another Emmy recently. It's his second Emmy this year.

The North Carolina Tar Heel baseball team will get to play on their own field this weekend in Chapel Hill. NC State, Charlotte and East Carolina will also be playing in the NCAA baseball regionals, but those three teams will be hitting the road.
