Competition was fierce at a local sports bar tonight. It was the kickoff of the 37th annual North Carolina state foosball championships at the break time billiards sports bar and grill in Wilmington. This is the nation's oldest and longest running state foosball event. The annual event doesn't just draw participants from North Carolina.

Some young archers from our area are shooting for a world championship. Over the weekend, the archery team at Roger Bacon Academy earned a spot in the National Archery in Schools Program world tournament this fall in Orlando.
