Craig Broeder has been biking cross country since April. He passed through the Port City Tuesday on his way to Myrtle Beach. His goal: biking 9,000 miles in 100 days to get one million people to donate a dollar for ovarian cancer research.

Twenty-two thousand. That's the number of children that will die from cancer in the US this year. Fifty-six of them will be from North Carolina. Here in New Hanover County, volunteers teamed up with St. Jude's Children's Hospital to walk for a cure.
