Happening this weekend is the 35th Annual North Carolina Festival by the Sea in Holden Beach. The two days of festivities features arts and crafts, music, contests and activities for the whole family. Saturday is the only day of the year you can walk across the Holden Beach bridge to get the best view of the island. For the more adventurous there will be balloon rides and for anglers there is the annual fishing tournament. Events start Saturday at 9 a.m. and go through Sunday afternoon. Full story...

Happening tomorrow the 2014 US Open King Mackerel Tournament kicks off in Southport. Join more than 400 boats filled with anglers hoping to reel in a King that nabs the Grand Prize of $25,000.
