Student athletes at UNCW got a chance to speak out at a meeting about recent cuts to the athletic department Thursday. It comes after the university announced it was cutting 4 sports next year, namely track and field, and adding sand volleyball. Full story...

Jellyfish can be scary. We know they come in all shapes and sizes and some can sting, but there are a lot of unknowns as well. Our Extraordinary Person of the Week studies jellyfish and says there are folks think jellyfish populations are on the rise. His research, though, shows that it's a myth.
