Gov. Mike Easley today warned citizens across the state to take the necessary precautions to protect themselves from any heat-related health problems due to the heat wave North Carolina is experiencing. With the early arrival of high temperatures, the National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory today and forecasts for high temperatures to continue for about a week. Temperatures are predicted to rise into the upper 90s today and the heat index could climb to 105 degrees this afternoon.
