WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) - Tuesday night marked the season premier of MTV's newest spin off, "Teen Mom 2." The show focuses on four teenage mothers from across the county, all dealing with different struggles as they try to manage their teen agenda and a new baby. The four girls come from MTV's second season of "16 and Pregnant" - a documentary type show that follows teenage girls as they deal with pregnancy.
One of the new teen moms is Jenelle Evans who's from Oak Island. On "16 and Pregnant" Jenelle and her mom, Barbra, had their share of drama. Before her baby, Jace, was even born, Jenelle was defiant of every instruction her mom gave her, and for our viewing pleasure, not much has changed. Although Jenelle has graduated from high school, she still is stuck in her party girl ways, leaving her mother to take care of her nine-month-old baby.
Right away, the interaction between the family is explosive, and only continues to get worse throughout the show. The episode ends with Barbara serving Jenelle with custody papers. That didn't sit well with the nineteen-year-old and she lets the world know.
Teen momma drama may make for a highly rated show for MTV, but like we've seen before, the footage can stand up in a court of law, too. Amber Portwood, of the original "Teen Mom" fame, was jailed for felony domestic battery and child neglect charges after an episode of the show hit airwaves last year.
From what viewers saw last night on "Teen Mom 2" and considering the fact that Jenelle is already in some trouble with the law, could Jenelle be the next "Teen Mom" train wreck? We'll see next Tuesday.
