Teens confess to killing restaurant owner

READ MORE:
OAK ISLAND -- We now know what led authorities to arrest two teens for the murder of an oak island restaurant owner. According to the search warrant, the teens confessed to killing Phillip Cook. The search warrant lays out the details of what happened the night Phillip Cook was murdered. July 9 Cook left the Island Way restaurant he owned with a large leather bag full of money. Police say 18-year-old Josh Caudill and 19-year-old James Martin waited in the bushes near Cook's home and then attacked him. According to the warrant the teens beat Cook with a wooden two-by-four and a wood post, grabbed his bag of money and then went home. Cook's body was found on his front porch the next day. The cause of death was a severe blow to the head. Investigators say shortly after the murder, tips started coming in that Caudill and Martin were involved. Police were able to arrest the teens Wednesday morning on drug charges. The search warrant states the pair was interviewed after the arrest and made full confessions about robbing and beating Cook. After the confession, police searched the teens' home and found crystal meth along with other drug paraphernalia. Neither the two-by-four nor the wood post used to beat Cook were found. Police are still investigating Cook's murder. It's possible there may be more arrests. Anyone with any information should call the Oak Island Police Department at 910-278-5595.

I realize that for those of

I realize that for those of you close to the murderers of Mr. Cook, this must be a mind-numbing shock, but you cannot expect the public at large to be symathetic here. These two young men intentionally robbed and brutally murdered an innocent man. These two, that you knew as "good people" no longer exist. You and their families need to be honest with yourselves.

to friend of martins father

You made a comment a ways back when this begin that you can not blame the parants. Well I am sorry but the father and mother should have done something with their son and paid more attention to him instead of taking care of you and your kids. When you had a mother and grandparants that should have been supporting you instead of him. He should have been supporting his own kids and helping them instead of you.
