Beginning Thursday, the New Hanover County Public Library is offering you a chance to do more than just check out books. This month, 50 photographs will be on display at the Telling Our Stories exhibit. The photos are being released from the state's archives for the first time ever, and were taken by both professional and amateur photographers from North Carolina. The photographs will be on display at different libraries throughout the state, including the branch in downtown Wilmington. Librarian Margaret Miles said, “Pictures that may make connections with family history, with books you've read, with all other kinds of reasons that we are North Carolinians and things that make us who we are.” The exhibit also includes the work of the winners of the Our State magazine Reader’s Choice contest.
