Testeverde leads Panthers to victory over Arizona

Story body

Four days after coming out of mothballs and signing with the Carolina Panthers, 43-year-old Vinny Testeverde helped lead the Panthers to a 25-to-10 road victory against Arizona. Testeverde was filling in for an injured David Carr, who took over for the injured Jake Delhomme. Testaverde hit Steve Smith for a 65-yard scoring pass to extend his NFL record by throwing a touchdown pass for a 21st straight season. Testaverde said, "A lot of guys stepped up to help us win today. I'm just glad they believed a guy my age could come in and help them win." Vinny says last Sunday at game time he was sitting at home watching the Jets and Giants play. The panthers are now 4-2 on the season.

Whose asking if Testaverde

Whose asking if Testaverde start again on Oct 29. Are you out of your mind? This guy is too old. John Fox and crew should be ashamed to even say they called up a 43 year old man to throw the ball for them last week. Now, I have nothing against veteran players, but can we get one that wasn't in Vietnam? Testaverde did his job on Sunday, but let's make room for someone else. Let the legend of Testaverde die as of last Sunday.

Testaverde to start again?

Clearly with his experience and maturity, as a short term solution while Jake is in the recovery mode, Vinnie should be the starter.
