New Hanover County has seen its third case of rabies this year. A sick raccoon that was approaching residents in the area of South Cardinal Drive tested positive for the virus. Two other rabies cases were confirmed in the past several weeks near the Military Cutoff Road and Windmill Way areas.

video of rabid racoon

I am absolutely livid about the image of the sick raccoon-obviously in agony-how could you show that?-better yet, what kind of sick insensitive people would allow that animal to continue to suffer-everybody knows, the only way to diagnose rabies is for the animal to be killed- WHY were people standing by and not having this animal put out of his misery humanly? I'll look forward to your next video-perhaps a dying human hanging out of a car-I have been a long time viewer-but between this and the video of the police officer that was killed-I've had just about enough-

Quit Whining

You treehuggers need to go away. Quit crying about something that doesn't matter

My kid saw it too!

I am SOOO outraged by the raccoon imagine WWAY is showing! That is just WRONG and completely uncalled for! It was bad enough when I saw it last night and had to sleep with the imagine in my head. Then this morning, my TV happened to be on GMA, and they flipped to WWAY and SHOWED that AWFUL imagine again! My kid walked by it and saw it. It's UNCALLED for and INSENSITIVE!!!!!!!!!!!! Makes me never want to watch this station again!

I have 3 small children that

I have 3 small children that were upset before school this morning from your video showing a caged raccoon that was dying. Was it necessary for you to show that, WWAY?
