Three charged in connection with February murder

Wilmington Police charged three men in connection with a murder from last winter. Twenty-two-year-old, Jevorne Quaine Valentine was shot and killed in February. This past weekend, Wilmington Police charged 20-year-old David Adrian Crummy with the murder. Wilmington Police had already arrested and charged 19-year-old Norman Ramel McKenny and Andre Montrell Session in the case. All three men are being held without bond at the New Hanover County Jail.

I, myself agree with the comments of everyone who is totaly sick of these thugs and their total disregard for human life. They take what they want when they want it. Even a life. When are we gonna put a stop to this? It's everywhere and it's the same old story. These are the same animals that we pay for in all of our paychecks every week. This is how they live and what they do. At any time, anyone can be approached by this scum and they will kill you without a thought. I hope one day they will bring themselves to the mainstream and prove what they could be and not this cycle that seems to never end with them. Well, one can dream, can't he? Who's with me?

Booze it and loose it & Eject the Project

Are people tired of the moneymaking Booze it or loose it campaign. Not really because it keeps drunks off the road and that's a good thing, paying fines, and lawyer fees etc. Why not have an EJECT IT FROM THE PROJECT campaign. The Officers stop anyone on the street in the booze it operation. Stop and search every residence of public housing and throw out any that have drugs, guns, gambling. Public housing belongs to the people of North Carolina. If residents don't want to consent to a search they can check no on the application and be denied. If they check yes, we can solve the project problem quickly. Remember Booze it and lose it,(operation moneymaker), and EJECT THE PROJECT (operation clean sweep). Both of these operations could save lives and public property and remove hoods and thugs from our city. How about that Wilmington Housing Authority. That could help in your quest for open apartments and send in new tenants who want a decent place to live. As taxpayers, we don't deserve the high crime and damage, but we subsidize it. Tell them the party's over. Eject the Project 2009 CHANGE, everybody wants some.

Crummy was just convicted and sent away in October of 2006 for a felony, ADW with serious injury. He served a whoppin' **SIX MONTHS** prior to being paroled, and completed his parole in February, the same month he's accused of killing Valentine. The people of North Carolina need to take back our court and corrections systems. We need about a million people coverging on Raleigh and demanding that the state adopt some rational sentencing guidelines that treat these predators appropriately and protect society as the state is SUPPOSED to be doing! Terrorism....global warming....a collapsing economy....ALL of these pale in comparison to the risk posed by men like Crummy living right in your neighborhood, but the state refuses to even TRY to protect you. The state legislature and judiciary simply don't care....but we need to make them care once again.

...arm yourself because it's about to get worse for the good ole' U.S. of A. The judicial system is a joke that has become nothing more than a source of revenue. Todays judicial system seems more focused on tracking down and jailing "Deadbeat Dads" for the Child Support Industry than "protecting" us from people like Mr. Crummy. Yes, parents should support their children but it needs to be fair, not just a war on fathers that does more to help drive them away from their children. Money alone can't cure everything, just look at the school system, Department of Social Services... Barack Obama and the democrats will continue their outright march toward socialism. The people whose taxes Obama wants to cut already pay little or nothing in federal income tax. Obama’s aim to remove another 20 million people from the tax rolls is not only aimed at raising taxes on the wealthy, productive, job-producing part of society, but also on making more people dependent on government. The incoming Attorney General Eric Holder is associated with the pardons of people like fugitive Marc Rich, FALN terrorist and the Elian Gonzalez debacle...but hey, he'll be the first African-American to head the Justice Department so that offsets everything else. Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State doesn't pass the smell test either. Whereas we might like to believe that hers is a noble mission on behalf of a beleaguered people, there is ample evidence to suggest that her primary loyalty is not to Joe Sixpack. Get ready, you're about to get just what you voted for, change in your pocket and hope that the government will bail you out.

Let me enlighten you. North Carolina has structured sentencing, meaning a mandatory minimum sentence on all felonies. David Crummy aka "bonk" or "bunky" served 284 days in jail before being convicted, hence the early release. As far as the statement "....ALL of these pale in comparison to the risk posed by men like Crummy living right in your neighborhood," - lets be realistic. I'll give you the fact that the younger Crummy is a bad person. With that said, the type of hyperbole mentioned above demonstrates severe paranoia. If you are not a drug dealer or rival gang member then you have nothing to worry about (except crossfire). This is about two sides of town whos rivalry has gone on for quite a while (east and north) and their respective gangs (folk nation and blood) and some drug robbery. Simple. In fact, try to name one this year that didn't involve a. gangs, b. drug robbery gone bad, c. drug debt.

Are you serious??? These thugs do attack others. Let a group of them see you walking alone in the evening and see if you don't get approached by them, or worse them try to rob you. It wasn't even a month ago that 6 gang members, two of which were still in high school, beat up a man and took his money down on Castle Street. This is an everyday thing with these thugs.

There is plenty to worry about when trash like this gets to walk free. Mrs. Jones is driving down S College Rd and gets yanked out of her car because "bunky" needs a ride away from the store he just robbed. Unless Mrs. Jones has a CCW permit, she has just lost her car at the bare minimum. If she does have a weapon and can get it, she will do Wilmington a favor by taking out the trash.

if as you state this is all about 2 sides of town and rival gangs and drugs, let's cordon those sections of town off; send in a couple of drug sniffing dogs and Chuck Norris. Have the National Guard on standby to corral any of the gangs and drug dealers who try to get through the cracks and away from Chuck. If this is the case, why not have all of the Police Resource Officers, who will be off for Christmas Break, move in with the Mounted Police and drug sniffing dogs and at least send a tough message.

Serving less than two years total for AWDWISI is a joke! There is no deterrant at all in a sentence that light. More importantly, if fails to keep a dangerous predator off the street for an adequate length of time. The people who live on Tenth Street have just as much right to feel safe in their neighborhood as I do. Second, these people are not simply killing other scum. When they get bored or low on cash, they don't hesitate to walk into a fast-food restaurant or convenience store and rob the place at gunpoint, as we recently saw in the Hardees robbery. Now, considering the odds of Al Qaida attacking Wilmington and you being a casualty, the sea level rising and drowning you, or one of these dirtbags killing you as part of a gang initiation or when you walk in on them during an armed robbery, which do YOU think is most likely?

The fact that he's at Walmart, the mall, drug store, supermarket, and around schools doesn't alarm you? Drug deals are not simple as you put it. First of all, how does who the president and political views, fit into this? This rivalry was happening during the presidency of a mulitude of candidates. Furthermore, I am from and have seen the changes that this city is going through. Talkin about going in these communities and sweeping it up. Or treating them like animals is not the solution, thats why they act like this now, all that will do is make it worse. I agree there should be some intervention but it starts in the community and not with law enforcement. So if anyone of you would like to make a real difference instead of sitting on here passing judgement about people like you all do absolutely no wrong at all then try joining one the many groups in Wilmington who are trying to raise awareness about this type of violence that is getting worse

We are already aware about the violence that's getting worse. We have seen this garbage long enough. If you think talking will work, I suggest a streetlight talk a thon in jervey, creekwood etc, and see for yourself what talk can do for your city. Bullet proof vest optional. This has nothing to do with political views. This is about public safety. These "communities" have a long standing gang and drug problem. Your not going to "scare straight" hardened gang members. Talk to them when in prison, enforce drug and weapon laws when their not. "that's why they act like this now, all that will do is make it worse". Unbelievable. Don't hurt their feelings by arresting criminals. Please make sure you stay in the relative safety of "one the many groups in Wilmington who are trying to raise awareness about this type of violence that is getting worse". It's been worse, for a long time. It's not going to improve without people standing up for law enforcement, and demanding that public housing be drug and gang free. There are many who entrust their safety to concealed carry classes (which have instructors from law enforcement), and personal vigilance. We're aware of the problem. "there should be some intervention but it starts in the community and not with law enforcement". Partner, we are the community. And the people want something done now, not 20 years from now. Keep talking about "make a real difference", I think you need to raise your "awareness" of how long and serious this problem is.

Oh, we're aware of the problems alright. What happens on the national political front trickles down to the state and local levels. I am part of a group that is trying to make a difference in my community, it's called the working, productive taxpayers group that pays the way for the non/won't work group. After I get off work, I'm busy keeping my yard, home and vehicle clean and presentable, I'm setting an example that my children and neighbors can see. I don't hang out in front of it selling drugs, drinking alcohol and waiting for the mail to deliver a check I haven't worked for. I'm not breeding children I can't afford to house, feed and cloth. If people really wanted to help themselves and live right, they would. We are creatures (animals) of habit and will be treated by others likewise. My dogs are better behaved than some of these people.

We are painfully aware of the mayhem that is going on in our and other predominately black inter-city neighborhoods. For decades the high crime rates of murders, stabbings, rapes, thefts, drug trafficking and etc have gone on. Some of these issues and low scoring at the schools in the areas continue, even though they receive more government funding than suburban schools. These areas more often than not are an eye sore and an embarrissment to the over-all community. The answer is with-in these neighborhoods themselves. Parents must be parents, homeowners and tenants must take back their neighborhoods. Parents must get involved with their kids and their schools. Take responsibility..

People are consistantly making judgmental thoughts and comments about what they don't know. I too am a Crummy my name is sharazard crummy. I too was in the media because i was charged and from that charge i was terminated from society in a sense i was made more so a victimn to predators that knew my chages but did not know me as a person. As of July 26, 2010 i recieved a payer for judgment, when the media reported the news they had me pictured as a mom whom scammed Brunswick county Social Services. This is to say STOP JUDGING FOLK THE MEDIA GIVES U SMALL PORTION & is all fact or just fiction. I am a college Graduate of Shaw University i graduated Cum Laude' May 8, 2010 in the process of obtaining my MBA.

I believe the comment was about his father and as hard as the screen it to read with all of the caps, I read it twice and do not see where you dispute that his father was in prison. However, it makes little difference one way or the other. My life has been no bed of roses. I came from a broken home and was raised on Welfare, many times going to bed hungry until I was old enough to get a job along with staying in school in order to help my mother put food on the table. I graduated with a four point grade average and worked and put myself through college and have raised and supported my own family without the government dime and without dealing drugs, robbing people, or murdering anyone. I get so sick of people whining about how hard their lives were when they were children and that is why they are criminals. People turn to a life of crime because they are too useless to do anything else. If his grandmother was such a hard working and loving person and you are on the straight and narrow and you contributed to his upbringing as well, then why did he turn out the way he did? Because he wanted to. Murdering a person is not a mistake, or an accident. It is a criminal act. The Bible (God) says Thou shalt not kill. He says an eye for an eye. He doesn't say it's ok to do it if you had a lousy childhood. This boy didn't have it any worse than the millions of other kids over the years who have come from poverty and broken homes. The situation he is in is a direct result of the choices he has made in this life. Patting criminals on the head and telling them it's not their fault is the reason that the crime rate in this country is what it is now.

Yep, you are the same person that has been charged 4 different times with failure to appear and a number of times for worthless checks. Anybody’s criminal history is public record, maybe something NHRMC should check a little closer. Since you asked, my name is John Q. You do not need connections to look up someones criminal record due to the fact that it is PUBLIC information.... Too bad the majority of criminals don't know this or the website address. Of course they wouldn't care anyway unless they were making a true effort to be a responsible productive member of society. Just because you haven't seen the inside of a prison doesn't mean that you do not have a criminal record and herein lies the problem.
