This week’s Troubleshooters Report is an update on a story we first brought you on election night.

Kenneth Thomas called our newsroom, upset that he was forced to fill out a provisional ballot, because someone else had already voted using his name. Today, we found out a poll worker accidentally pulled up Kenneth's voter ID for a man whose first name was Kenneth and middle name was Thomas.

That voter did not notice the error on the paperwork he signed, and proceeded to vote under Kenneth Thomas' name.

Luckily, his signature was legible, and elections workers were able to sort this out. They are recommending that both votes be counted in the final canvas, since this was just a mix up, not a case of voter fraud.

Our research uncovered there are actually 5 men named Kenneth Thomas registered to vote in New Hanover County alone.
