Two teens in Brunswick County may face arson charges after starting five fires Thursday. The first fire began around noon in Boiling Spring Lakes. Within three hours, fire fighters battled five fires, some involving trash. Two boys, 15 and 16 years old, are the alleged fire starters. Police said the boys go to South Brunswick High School, and had been skipping school when the fires were started. "These kids were probably just on their way home and a crazy thought gets into their head, and next thing you know we've got millions of dollars worth of equipment, man power and people risking their lives to stop forest fires,” said Chief Emmett Ballree of the Boiling Spring Lakes Police. The investigation was turned over to the state forestry service, who could charge the teens with arson.

CHARGED

GET YOUR STORY STRAIGHT THE BOYS WHO SET THE FIRE ARE BEING CHARGED. SO NEXT TIME DO YOUR HOMEWORK BEFORE YOU OPEN YOUR MOUTH.

What did you say Chief????

So from the mouth of BSL police chief we here, "These kids were probably just on their way home and a crazy thought gets into their head, and next thing you know we've got millions of dollars worth of equipment, man power and people risking their lives to stop forest fires,” ......Say What? These were not small children but 15 abd 16 year olds. Your department caught them and there are no charges filed? Oh, we forgot, you are the father of a felon and you have a habit of turning your back of law breaking. Hey, next week they may be breaking in your PD and taking guns. Sound familier, Chief? What a joke you are and we poor souls in BSL live with it every day!

It would be nice to know

It would be nice to know where the fires were. Could we have a little more complete reporting, please?

One was on Goldsboro Road

One was on Goldsboro Road between Liberty and Charlestown, just up from SBHS.
