Two Camp Lejeune Marines killed in Iraq

CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. (AP) -- Two 21-year-old Marines based in North Carolina have died in Iraq.

Military officials say Lance Corporal Benjamin Desilets of Elmwood, Illinois and Corporal Julian Woodall of Tallahassee, Florida were killed yesterday in Anbar province.

They were conducting combat operations, but no other details were available.

Both were members of the Third Battalion, Tenth Marine Regiment, Second Marine Division, Second Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Lejeune.

Woodall joined the Marines in August 2004. He was promoted to corporal last September.

Desilets joined the Marines in September 2004 and was promoted to lance corporal in 2005. A friend says Desilets joined the military to support his three-year-old daughter.
