U2 chows down on some NC 'cue

READ MORE:
RALEIGH -- With or without 'cue? The News & Observer of Raleigh reported that Cooper's BBQ was about to close Saturday when the band's private jet services coordinator called, asking for enough food for 25 people: barbecue, pork rinds, five fried chickens, pig skins, ribs, cole slaw, hush puppies. Owners Debbie and Randy Holt said yes. But they don't take credit cards so the coordinator, known to the Holts only as Maurice, had to verify there was enough cash on the plane to cover the $277 bill. The Holts prepared the food for the 10:50 p.m. delivery. Debbie Holt and her 14-year-old daughter, Ashley, delivered the food to U2's private jet at Raleigh-Durham International Airport, receiving $300 cash. (Copyright 2009 by The Associated Press. BBQ

Why is this news?

A $23 tip on a $277 bill...with delivery?

I now have another reason to hate that megalomaniac Bono. He's obviously a cheapskate.

I would suppose that the

I would suppose that the delivery charges were included in the $277.

I would suppose he's a cheapskate

I don't care if the delivery charges were included, that's less than a 10% tip. Maybe he should worry less about African debt relief and more about how the American working folks get by?

Yeah...

Pretty LAME of U2 if you ask me...had THEY PICKED it up..ok I can see no tip...but these people DELIVERED it...which they should have gotten a better tip than that for a 277 bill...I watched a movie star give a 10 dollar tip on an 800 bill once...I wanted to punch him in the face

$277 bill

I think $277 is close to what one concert ticket may cost.

great show

Great show at Carter Finley, amazing that they have been playing nearly 30 years. Poor security and traffic control though. Hope they enjoyed NC
