Unwanted gifts head back to stores

The day after Christmas is usually the busiest return day of the year for stores.

Return lines at Best Buy on College Road were steady as shoppers returned duplicate gifts, incorrect chords, et cetera.

Even though most people waited only a few minutes, some of those who dared to venture to the stores this day after Christmas were prepared for a fight.

Robert Reuse was out returning gifts. “I was expecting crawling through people, war paint on, like an infantry in Vietnam.”

At the Target on New Center, it was a similar scene.

People wandered in with their unwanted gifts, but lines were kept to a minimum. As long as customers had their gift receipts it was a smooth return for everyone.
