UPDATE: Brunswick County Roads

READ MORE:

Brunswick County remains under a State of Emergency that was declared at 5:30pm on September 27, 2010. Several roads are experiencing high water and flooding due to excessive rain. Water has accumulated in low-lying areas and along streams and other waterways. As more rain has fallen, water has breached many roadways and has caused erosion in varying degrees along the roadways where the water has crossed the roadways or sped through the road culverts used for runoff. As a result of the saturated ground and forecasted rainfall, the area could experience significant widespread flooding. Water will continue to accumulate in low-lying areas and along streams and other waterways as the rain continues to fall.

Brunswick County Courts and Brunswick County Complex are operating on a two hour delay at this time.

Shelters are still open and operational at this time. • North Brunswick High School, Old Fayetteville Rd in Leland • West Brunswick High School, Whiteville Rd in Shallotte
