This

isn't an excuse...but this type of thing is going to INCREASE until the economy gets back in line...people are starting to get panicked and being pushed to do things they might not normally think of doing...still against the law and they have to pay for it if they get caught...but this type of thing along with theft from neighborhoods and churches will increase thru the summer...

I absolutely agree

I was thinking the exact same thing...until things get more stable with the economy they should expect it. I heard gas prices are jumping $.20 tomorrow....most people are already at their pain threshold!! Until these politicians get things straight....things will absolutely get worse well before they get better. If the government would stop spending money on bs and find ways to cut back for us who are paying the heavy taxes. We are not a free country in my mind anymore....we are slaves to our country and political figures. That really sucks!!

What?

We've had one or two bank robberies around here every month as long as I can remember. The SunTrust over on 17th Street was held up so many times they finally encased the tellers in bullet-proof glass. There is no shortage of dirtbag criminals. It has nothing to do with the current economy. Some people are just worthless.

WITH THE ECONOMY AT THE

WITH THE ECONOMY AT THE STATE IT IS I AM VERY SURPRISED THIS SORT OF THING IS NOT HAPPENING EVERYDAY... IT HAS GOT TO THE POINT WHERE YOU DEBATE WEATHER YOU PAY YOU LIGHT BILL OR PUT GAS IN THE CAR TO KEEP GOING TO WORK EVERYDAY JUST TO BE ABLE TO PUT GAS IN THE CAR...IT'S TIME FOR A CHANGE BEFORE THE WHOLE WORLD GOES MAD... IT'S A SAD SHAME THAT PEOPLE ARE LOOSEING IT...AND RESULTING TO THINGS SUCH AS STEALING FROM A BANK

Not a good reason

I would say I agree with you if he did it to feed his family or pay a bill to keep his power on, but most likely he did this to feed a drug habit....something thats been around before and after economic shifts!! The druggies are just getting bolder and bolder, even stealing in broad daylight from homes where people might be home. Just hope they come to my house when I am home for I have a great surprise for them!!!!

A person with any character...

...would not resort to bank robbery. They'd get a second, part-time job or declare bankruptcy. A person who resorts to crime is not a victim of an economic downturn - he's a thief, who needs to be in prison.

Re: Not a good reason

I agree...most likely because of drugs/alcohol. I can also see it being because it's now getting into summer and it's too hot to be on the street. So what do they do...get arrested and enjoy life in jail - 3 meals a day, AC, TV, etc. Similar to how crime picks up in the colder months. If they can stay in jail while it's hot/cold then they can get out while it's more comfortable to live their street life.

i agree

I agree with you. Crime has always been around and always will be as long as there are people around who are not willing to do an honest days work. My home was broken into twice in 3 days by a couple feeding a drug habit. I interupted them the first time and they came back to finish off the job. The criminal actually had the nerve to claim HE got ripped off when he was arrested because he traded my property on the street for drugs and received fake crack. If someone turns to crime, I don't care the reason, then they always had it in them. They just think they have found a good excuse. I firmly believe that no amount of money is worth the time because there is no such thing as the perfect crime and if you turn to that life in the first place that just shows how intelligent (or lazy) you really are. If someone tries to break into my home again, they and a very large, very protective surprise waiting for them.
