Jack Madison came to WWAY in December 2003. Prior to working at NewsChannel 3, he was a Morning Anchor at WDTV in Clarksburg, West Virginia. Jack was also the station's Legislative Reporter, and spent much of his time at the state capital covering West Virginia politics.
While reporting at WDTV, Jack covered everything from the severe floods that swept through the southern part of the state in 2002, to President George W. Bush's visit to Ripley, WV to honor Veterans on the 4th of July. He did extensive coverage on the bombing of the U.S.S. Cole; his reports focused on a local woman who lost her son in the attack. Jack's piece on a former WVU Football player killed in the September 11th attacks on the World Trade Center became part of an Associated Press Award winning documentary. He also won an AP award for "Best Spot News Coverage" in 2001.
In 2005, Jack added a North Carolina AP award for "Best News Writing" to his accomplishments.
Then, in Febraury, 2006, Jack became WWAY's weekend anchor and producer.
Jack was born and raised in Wheeling, WV. He is a 1998 graduate of West Virginia University, where he studied Broadcast Journalism. In his spare time you can find him watching football; especially the Dallas Cowboys! He's also a history buff and loves talking politics.
