Ann came to Wilmington in August of 2000, and since then, she's become a fixture in the WWAY newsroom.
Ann, a native of Winter Haven, Florida, got her Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Wake Forest University; During college, she served as an intern at WXLV-TV in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and WFLA-TV in Tampa, Florida. From there, she went straight to work here in Wilmington. During her time at WWAY, Ann has covered the crime beat, and served as the station's weekend anchor. She now anchors weekday evenings at 6 & 11, and handles our Troubleshooters franchise every Wednesday, working investigative news stories that affect our viewers.
Her hobbies include cooking, traveling, and enjoying spare time on our local beaches. After college she spent 5 weeks touring 9 countries in Europe. Her favorite spots were Switzerland, Denmark, and the Czech Republic. Ann's favorite books are any by Nelson DeMille. She also loved The DaVinci Code and The Kite Runner. Her favorite movies are "The Christmas Story," "Office Space," and "Meet the Parents," and "The Notebook." She still has nightmares from "The Ring!"
Ann got married in March of 2004. Her husband, Richard, is an internal medicine physician. Rich and Ann had a little boy, William, in December of 2007.
Ann's parents still live in Florida. Her mother, Clare, works as a 4th grade teacher. Her father, Mac, is a financial advisor. She has two brothers. Her other brother, Richard, works for the Department of Energy in Washington, D.C. Her younger brother, Sam, is a photographer and editor for NewsChannel 3.
