About Me

Cliff Pyron joined the WWAY team in May of 2011 as a General Assignment News Reporter.

A native of Charlotte, Cliff returned to Wilmington after a year and a half as a photojournalist at WCSC-TV in Charleston, South Carolina. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies with a minor in history from UNCW. With multiple television internships while in college perhaps his most exciting was with CBS Sports following the PGA Tour as Production Support.

Accused by some as being a sports fanatic, Cliff can often be found watching the biggest sporting events on television. Moving all around throughout his life (Illinois, New Jersey, Hong Kong, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia) his favorite teams are as sporadic as the places he has lived. They include the Buffalo Bills, Baltimore Orioles and Charlotte Bobcats. Above all Cliff is a UNCW and UNC fan!

When he's not reporting or watching sports, Cliff can probably be found on Wrightsville Beach! Cliff is excited to be back in Wilmington and looks forward to continue growing professionally in his old college town. If you have any good story ideas shoot him an email at cpyron@wwaytv3.com.
