Vandals tag downtown with paint

WILMINGTON -- Paint-wielding vandals made a nasty mess in downtown Wilmington overnight. Officials say more than 20 businesses, cars and parking meters downtown were tagged with spray paint with racial and derogatory slang. Now business owners are left with the clean up. Pender's Café owner Maxine Pender said, "I think it's terrible. We've had problems going on for several years and it seems like nobody can do anything about it, and it's very expensive to get this stuff taken off -- and we have to pay for it." Local bar owner Owen Dunne said, "It's something you have to deal with doing business downtown, there's nothing you really can do about it." Police were able to get video on possible suspects. If you recognize these individuals you're asked to call Wilmington police at 910-343-3600.

Paint Vandals!

You would think these grown men would have something better to do with their time. They should get a life; and I do hope they are caught and made to pay a hefty fine if nothing else.

Seems it would have taken a

Seems it would have taken a while to spray paint all of the mentioned businesses/cars/parking meters, etc. Seems also if this was done down town, maybe there would have been a possibility that a Police officer may have spotted what was going on?????

They didn't get the Krispy Kreame

They didn't vandalize any of the local donut shops now did they. I think that speaks for itself.

Now let's see some serious charges

These guys appear to be all over the age of majority, so they need to be made an example of. Burn their butts for this. Wilmington should put it's full weight on the prosecution of these people because this affects the livelihood of everyone and business that depends on our pleasant atmosphere for the tourism dollars. I wish I new who they were, I'd drop the dime in a second!
