COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The R.C. Soles-Allen Strickland saga continues in Columbus County, but now a federal agent is involved.

Recently a special agent with the FBI called Columbus County 911 after he got a call from Strickland. The agent told an operator that the former senator may have assaulted the teen.

“My name is Frank Brostrom,” the agent told the operator. “I’m with the FBI… Listen: I need to report someone possibly being assaulted who called me from his cell phone.”

Special Agent Frank Brostrom said that someone was Allen “Frog” Strickland, a former legal client of Soles.

“The caller, the victim, who I know is ‘Frog’… You know who I’m talking about?” Brostrom asked the dispatcher, who apparently understood. “Frog. He was calling yelling for help, and I kept trying to get him and kept getting disconnected. I asked him if he was being assaulted by Sen. Soles.”

“So it might be a good chance that ‘Frog’ is at Soles’s, and that’s where we’re needing the police to go, correct?” the dispatcher asked.

“That’s where it usually happens,” Brostrom said. “Yes, ma’am.”

To find out more, we contacted Special Agent Brostrom. He referred us to his supervisor, who did not say much.

We asked if there is an active investigation on Soles, but the supervisor at FBI’s Wilmington Field Office only said that they cannot confirm or deny if an investigation is underway.

The 911 call made August 2 at 6:37 p.m. prompted Columbus County 911 to dispatch the Tabor City Police Department. A police report says when an officer arrived at Soles’s home, the former senator said several people were outside his gate when he got home. Soles said he asked them to leave, and they did.

Tabor City Police Chief Donald Dowless told us by phone Wednesday he called Strickland about 30 minutes after the officer arrived at Soles’s home. The chief asked the teen if he was OK. Strickland said he was fine and did not want to say anything else until he talked to the FBI. He told Chief Dowless that he had a meeting scheduled with agents the following day.

We contacted Strickland today by phone, but he hung up on us.

I think Frog should marry Teen Mom. Now that would make a great T.V. show !!

  • guesty says:

Frog would say “Girls are icky.” And then he would drive a car in a ditch, set a fire, do some vandalism and then go to court.

  • Guest says:

Teen mom and frog two big jokes!! Both are white trash!!!!

And that has what to do with the current story about the mess in Tator City?

Peoria based FBI agent pleads guilty to lying about missing cash

    By ANDY KRAVETZ (akravetz@pjstar.com)
    Journal Star

    PEORIA —

A Peoria-based FBI special agent has pleaded guilty to lying to his superiors about whereabouts of more than $40,000 that was seized in a drug investigation.

Jerry Nau, 44, of Peoria, an FBI special agent since 1999, waived indictment by a federal grand jury and pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Urbana to one count of making and using a false document. The case, which was heard by Peoria-based U.S. District Judge James Shadid, was heard in Urbana likely to accommodate prosecutors from Indiana who were handling the case given Nau’s close ties to federal prosecutors here in Peoria.

In his written plea agreement, Nau doesn’t admit to taking the $43,643 that was seized during the investigation of a drug ring headed by Adrain Robinson, who received a life sentence last year. Rather, Nau, a supervisory special agent who was working with the Multi-County Narcotics Enforcement Group, MEG, specifically states he didn’t know what happened to the money that was seized from Robinson in November 2008.

His plea agreement states that he came to get the money from the MEG office and was to bring it back to the FBI evidence vault. After Robinson’s conviction in 2009, the agents went looking for the money which they could claim under drug forfeiture laws. However, it wasn’t there.

You must not know frog cause if you did know him then you would know that he has a very pretty girl friend. I”m sick of people putting this young man down, not one of that say bad things about him don’t know or his family and not one of you give a dam what him and his family have gone through, I know young man very little I”ve meet 3 times and spoke no more than maybe 6 words to you but I would stand up and fight for this young man. Try looking pass what the paper says about him cause they are always going add a lot more bad stuff and make him look a lot worse. Instead of saying things bad about this young man try praying for him and his loving family. May pray for him that he will trun his life over to God.

the profits will be escrowed in the “Frog for Mayor” PAC?

  • Mr. Soles and Ms. Frog needs to get a divorce. How long will these little spats keep going on?

  • Guestywesty says:

Who, I ask you, is more popular–Froggy or Teen Mom? Both of them fascinate me, and they have so much in common–recklessness, destructiveness, a violent streak, luschious lips, etc.

As for Old Man Soles, that man’s heart is strong! I mean super strong. All that drama, and Mr. Soles just keeps goin’ and goin’ and goin’ like that EverReady Bunny Rabbit.

But . . . this hideous soap opera will end in violent tragedy if something is not done . . . and soon.

May the Lord have mercy on Tabor City!

  • Stratcatz says:

Anyone with common sense should be able to see that Soles and his boys are basically blackmailing each other. Whether it is over sex, arson, drugs,or something else-most likely illegal, there is a reason why Soles has continued to pay these “fine upstanding gentlemen” and has not pressed any charges.

  • Guest1313 says:

Why does this kid keep going back to where he knows he will end up in trouble?? Don’t get me wrong, FORMER Sen. Soles is probably not as innocent as he wants everybody to think he is, but I’m not going to go into a snake pit and think everything is going to be ok

    That and Viagra.

  • Commonsensenotcommontoday says:

I don’t share the same….um….”tastes” as Mister Soles.

  • guesty says:

Yea, if I had to make a choice between the two, without a doubt I would pick Jenelle. Fortunately I don’t have to deal with either of these two idiots or pick one of them. I definitely don’t “swing” the way Soles seems to play.

When you enter, I think Maion, NC, you see signs proclaiming it is the birthplace of Randy Travis.

Myrtle Beach notes it is the birthplace of Vanna White.

Staunton, Virginia notes it is home to the Statler Brothers.

I drove through Tabor City yesterday; no signs proclaiming it is home to former Senator Soles or Frog. Maybe there is hope for the town.

Time heals all; let a few years pass and Frog could be elected Mayor.

  • frogfanclub says:

Surfing Tom we’re working on that sign, but in the meantime there will be RC and Frog bobble heads, Frog t-shirts, Rc t-shirts, all kinds of autographed and officially licensed memorabilla for sale at this year’s Yam Festival in October. You’re all invited.

  • Guest says:

How about citing them both as chronic public nuisances and making them both pay all future 911 and court costs. Maybe they could start another reality show to pay for the costs. They’d make a ton and, at the same time, solidify the rest of the nation’s opinions on what goes on in the South’s small towns.
