ONLY ON 3: Mom wants justice after son soils self in class

A Brunswick County mom says a teacher mistreated her son in class. She thinks he will have to live with the consequences for the rest of his life. The mother of the third grade student at Jesse Mae Monroe Elementary School in Brunswick County says she was appalled when she found out her son was not allowed to go to the bathroom and then had an accident in class.

I SUPPORT THIS MOTHER 100%

I had a VERY SIMILAR EXPERIENCE IN VIRGINIA. My daughter who absolutely loves school, began complaining that she didn't want to go to school anymore because she didn't like her teacher. At one point she came home with soiled clothing to say she had an accident in class. Concerned that my child might not be advocating for herself since she seemed to be a little shy, I contacted the school and arranged to meet the teacher and visit the class. Within MOMENTS OF MEETING WITH THE TEACHER SHE IMMEDIATELY BEGAN MAKING RACIAL REMARKS and making reference to my daughter as "WHITE" inferring that she simply didn't fit in because the rest of the children in her class happened to be "Black" as she called them. (Which is ironic because my daughter is of MIXED MEDITERRANEAN and JAPANESE DESCENT, although she is very pale.) Anyway - I didn't tolerate the conversation long and I filed a complaint with the School Principal. I requested my daughter be put into another class. The new teacher appeared to be of African American descent as well, but fortunately - She was wonderful and my daughter was able to enjoy school again. At that time, I was relieved and thought the issue was over. But now.. A few years later - I have come to realize that this incident has seriously impacted my childs mental and physical health. She now has a problem with Fecal Retention/Chronic Constipation which I am convinced is a direct result of this incident and the continued practice of her various other teachers over the last few years of NOT LETTING HER USE THE BATHROOM DURING CLASS. I in fact just contacted the her old school district to discuss this mater in further detail because I feel it is a form child abuse. It is INHUMANE TO FORCE A CHILD TO HOLD THEIR BODILY WASTE UNTIL THEY SOIL THEMSELVES. Worse yet.. No one should have the right to that to a CHILD. Can you imagine being forced to hold your bladder or bowls at work until you go in your pants? It's insane. Anyhow.. I don't know why the Mom in this case feels its racially motivated, but I wouldn't say it isn't possible after what I experienced. All I know is that I support her right to use the media to draw attention to the situation if it is not being taken seriously and I support her for standing up for her child. I believe the teacher should be removed if she refused to let the child use the bathroom and the school district owes her an apology. We send our children to these schools to learn, not to be abused or neglected.
