City leaders question wording in baseball stadium petition

Some Wilmington city leaders are crying foul over a petition to stop a publicly funded baseball stadium. They believe the wording is too broad and could jeopardize other events.

Slippery slope

Let's not forget, if this ordnance is placed on ballot during a regular election no only is the wording dangerous, it will cost the city $60,000; if forced to a special election $80,000.

For a group pushing responsible use of taxpayer money, this isn't very responsible.
