BOLIVIA, NC (WWAY) — It’s week two in court for the case District Attorney Jon David calls a real estate deal gone horribly wrong. Craig Bryant is accused of killing Shallotte realtor Adam Bradshaw back in 2008 with the help of Lora Moultrie who pleaded guilty to second degree murder last year.

Monday, the prosecution called key witnesses to the stand. David says Bryant sold a piece of property to Bradshaw, realized he had made a mistake and wanted to reverse the deal, and then tried to fix his problem with murder. David says Bryant then forged a deed that falsely claimed Bradshaw had sold the property back to him.

The notary who signed that fake deed, Robert Stanley, testified in court.

Mary Johnson and Ethel Gause, a mother and daughter who lived in the house where David says Bryant went to use the phone after he stashed Bradshaw’s car in the woods, also testified. David said Bryant called Christy Hughes.

David said Bryant had Hughes drop him off at the alleged murder scene and pick him up at a different location when he was finished.

David also plans to call crime scene investigators to the stand. He said the case is very involved because there are five different crime scenes.

Last year, Bryant’s then live in girlfriend, Lora Moultrie pleaded guilty to second degree murder and conspiracy to commit first degree murder. She is scheduled to testify Tuesday. David says he does not know what she’ll have to say.

Bradshaw’s widow and her family were in court as well as Bryant’s mother. Bryant’s mother, Delphia was indicted for smuggling a razor blade to her son in prison last year.

What a horrific thing to have to live through all over again: like ripping a scab off a wound that just won’t heal. I pray for you all in this difficult time. My thoughts are with you. I pray for Mr. Bryant’s family as well.
