Ashley and Knightdale fight it out in state playoffs
The state playoffs are underway for high school soccer. The Ashley Screaming Eagles hosted the Knightdale Knights Wednesday night. The action packed, high scoring thriller was filled with tons of drama. I hear all the comments of snows bad actions, but nobody spoke of the excellent job that Kid Broaden done just to keep Ashley's hopes alive !! I wish I could see more over here in Iraq !!

I watched the video, the
I watched the video, the K-player was going for the ball, the hit by Snow was intentional. The hit by the K-player was unfortunate but not intentional! It's all about attitude, rememeber adults, IT'S JUST A GAME!
The refs screwed that game
The refs screwed that game up. Ashley won. Period. That ref was the worst ref i ever seen. And Chris Snow did what anyone else wouldve done. If i got hit there i wouldve retaliated the same way. Go Eagles. And people that dont agree dont know anything about sports or soccer.

You sound like a soccer parent not a soccer fan. This was BS all around. As you know it is the retaliation that gets the call. The ref did not screw the game it was a player not maintaining their composure. The integrity of the ref should be commended. Seems his call was not manipulated by the likes of you. Good job ref. You were supporting the losing team correct?

you can't blame the ashley player the knightdale player was obviously retaliating as you can see him on the ground in the far right corner of the clip holding his head looking up at the ref (see the 27th second). The red card should have been issued to both players. The fact that you can argue the refs called a fair game shows that you have little to no soccer experience under your belt. The ashley player was acting on pure instinct and I'm sure given another second to think about his actions he would have still been playing and Ashley would have won. The refs threw the game on countless occasions. If you were there you would know. Case closed.
Knightdale player definitely retaliated
I reviewed the video of this game that I recorded and noticed the Knightdale player retaliating against Chris Snow. About 6 seconds before the kid from Knightdale kicked Snow in his private area; he was laying on the ground holding his head because another player lost his balance going after the ball and accidently fell on his head. The kid sat there for a few seconds holding his head and looking at ref to make a call. The ref didn’t respond so the kid got up quickly with the intentions of kicking Chris Snow. If you notice in the video the kid’s foot was nowhere near the ball.

good work chris snow-you just ruined your senior season. youll never play high school soccer again- i bet youre not too happy about that. its obvious where ashley's poor sportsmanship as a team comes from if theyre taking the lead from this poor excuse of a captain

Thats the dumbest thing I have ever heard in my life. He was acting on instinct, you can tell by how fast it happened. Anyone with common sense can see that the other guy was just as guilty. And the fact that you wrote that note shows that you have poor sportsmanship.

wow that is the last thing Snow is, he is a very classy young man and a very good captain he set a very good example for his teammates. I think that he lost his temper for a second but what teenage male would of acted different, the kid obviously was not going for ball because if he was he would not have ran directly at Snow if you think about it. But Chris Snow had a hell of a season and he was a very good captain.

if anyone says that knightdale didnt deserve to win that game they shouldnt even be allowed to watch another soccer game both teams played well and the horrible ref calls deffinetly went both ways. the penalty kick problem should have been takein care of before the kick was even taken its not knightdales fault. knightdale deserved the win. they got it. and the kid that likes to swing. well he got what he deserved to. an L in the playoffs

when have you heard of him swingig at someone else prior to this game? so you just might want to rethink your statement. But the calls didnt go both ways, knightdale exagerated there fouls way to much and the ref kept calling it...sounds one way to me

I am saying it, and I will be back next year. Our penalty kick won the game period, if your soccer player would have taken his butt where he should have been there would have been no problem. Both teams played a hell of a game, however the simple fact is the ref made a call he shouldn't have. Once the whistle is blown George kicked and made it period. Yes it was an intense game but the karate chop to the nuts and the throwing down of Austin prove this was the only way you guys could win. Tony knocked that kid down so he reatliated against Snow. Again YOU DIDN'T deserve it and will get your butts beat next game. What goes around comes around. Belive it buddy!!!!
Poor sport
Snow should face assault charges for purposely hitting the other player. If not, he should face school disciplinary action.
FAIR IS FAIR
A player that does anything of that nature should be suspended. We see pro players who act wrong, but we dont realize that it had to start somewhere !!
Terrible referee
Can anyone tell me how in the heck that referee has the right to bring back that penatly kick!!!???? He is the worst referee I have ever seen. If the Knightdale player was too close to the sideline they should get in trouble not us loose our kick that won the game!!!!! I hope this referee NEVER comes back to Ashley high school or any other for that matter!!!!

The first referee blew the whistle to start the PK, but the second referee blew his whistle just before the kick to get the player further up the sideline. Since there was a second whistle, the play is over and does not count. Therefore, another kick is awarded.
