Brunswick County ADA loses case; never subpoenas police officers

Court documents say it all. Apparently Brunswick County assistant district attorney Erin Holden was not prepared to prosecute a case involving John Richard Smilowski. The Oak Island resident was charged with strangling an on-and-off again girlfriend. Smilowski pleaded not guilty on August 16, 2010.
