It started as a demonstration on the river in Downtown Wilmington (much like the historic Boston Tea Party) against the actions of our leaders regarding excessive taxation, and the changing of our government goals and ideals. It ended as a local outcry against taxation without representation (in the form of forced annexation of the Monkey Junction area) in a city council meeting at the Courthouse. There were loud chants, impassioned speakers, numerous signs, snipers on rooftops, and arrests. Everything an American government protest can be. The local radio, television and print coverage was amazing. Keep up this timely and relevant reporting.
