Ron Hewett resigns as Brunswick County Sheriff

Ronald Hewett has resigned from his position as Sheriff of Brunswick County. He was suspended from his post on March 27. He is under investigation for alleged embezzlement, sexual harrassment and showing up at crime scenes intoxicated.

I was a resident of Brunswick county not long ago...I was there when ron Hewitt became Sheriff...I think he did great things for brunswick county and could still do it if he had not let the power go to his head...That is the thing that he is guilty of. A lot of people in high powered positions let that power go to their heads. I feel really sorry for him he was a really good man at one time.
