Sheriff Hewett

I do not know the Sheriff, but I do feel this is somewhat a witch hunt. First let me say that I am a 33 year law enforcement veteran. the 2 recordings I heard hear one discussing a shooting of a black man I would assume the Sheriff was at home when this occured and very well may of had a few drinks. But he was home after a days work. He was probably notified of this situation and contacted someone who he trusted on his staff discussing what he had been informed had occured. The second he while possibly having a drink or two (un proven just speculated)but called again a trusted member of his staff to vent, discuss that someone was looking for something he did not know about suggesting that this was in fact a witch hunt. He may very well be guilty of some or all of these alleged crimes but funny thing the Feds have not indicted him yet and they are the ones who started the mess. Apparently the group who right or wrong sought to oust Sheriff Hewett knew there would be none or wanted to be famous. I really see no loyalty in these people. I do not see where when the Feds started sniffing around his so called friends stayed by his side. Personally having worked for a Sheriff who for selfish personal reasons having nothing to do with my job nor performance gave me the infamous your services are no longer needed but I respected the office to much to smear smutt on it so it the next election strongly but cleanly supported the opposition (who Won) I really hope Sheriff Hewett is cleared of the charges, the good folks of Brunswick county reelect him and he sweeps his house clean.Good Luck Sheriff! But if you are guilty of the malfeasance of office. You should step down and I am sorry for your loss of moral integrity. Lord Bless and Godspeed.

Drunk

He didn't sound like he was slurring his speech to me. Also what a lie when the deputy told him he was their to pick him up. when he was actually holding the hammer and nail.

That poor family

I would like to say that I feel sorry for the Sheriff because it is shown that the poor man has problems and needs some therapy, I hope he can find someone to help him resolve some of his problems. Next I feel sorry for his family this has got to the be the hardest thing that they have every gone through. I will keep them in my prayers.

RONALD HEWETT

WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND..WHAT A BITE IN THE ASS...

Ephesians 6:12

"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.".........remember this Ron and get on your knees and pray.

There was a time

This isn't the first time power has corrupted a good person. I remember the Ronald Hewett who was the youngest elected sheriff in the state of NC, the DARE officer who ran on the platform of cleaning up a corrupt Sheriff's office, the father who was so proud of his kids. I remember the Ronald Hewett who admitted to his own mistakes and short comings - the Ronald who was so well thought of, not just in Brunswick County, but across the state of NC. I am disappointed in him - and I think a lot of other people are too. But I'm not going to cast any stones at him or his family - because I know I'm not perfect and I do remember all the good he has done for Brunswick County. My prayers are with you and your family Ronald - I know this is a difficult time for you. I pray you can find the strength to find the good man that I know is still there.

It is a shame, he has

It is a shame, he has cleaned up several messes and it makes you wonder just WHO'S toes he has stepped on!!!!!! Was he getting to close to some upper crust?????????
