Me and my friends were the ones who discovered the green snake. It was ON TOP of the EMPTY green mamba cage. It was clearly a much larger snake then a typical green snake. How was an outside snake conveniently located on top of the mamba's empty cage??? We knew better. We informed the girl at the front, who did nothing and continued selling tickets, thinking it was a joke. After we warned her not to let anyone people inside she still did nothing. We then informed an employee that was cleaning windows, and he dropped everything to take care of the situation. Green MambaSubmitted by Valirie Lewis (not verified) on 16 April 2008 - 2:01pm.
I was the one who found the Green Mambo on top of the cage. I know what a harmless green snake looks like, and what I saw on top of that cage was not a green snake, it was the Green Mamba. How ironic is it that a green snake would just so happen to crawl on top of the cage where the Green Mamba was missing! If it was just a green snake, I would like to know why the employee panicked and yelled for everyone to get away when he saw the snake on top of the cage! Sounds like to me, their story is not adding up! Good try though! Green MambaSubmitted by Mike Ward (not verified) on 15 April 2008 - 3:07pm.
I was at the Serpentarium on Saturday for the feeding. I watched the whole show. They didn't even feed any mambas. I did see the green mamba in the cage however. Sounds like someone got scared by a green snake to me. serpentarium on Orange StreetSubmitted by kevin (not verified) on 14 April 2008 - 11:02pm.
they TRY to do a good cover up on that one lol I was there, I looked all over that cage for the green mambo if was NOT in the cage. the person up front taking the money was informed and thought it was a joke and did nothing. The guy cleaning the windows of the cages just about crapped his drawers when we told him and he looked at it up on top of the cage wrapped around the piece on top of the cage. N.C. Headlines |

Do the math
How long would it take to catch a deadly, lightning-fast green mamba that is totally on the loose on top of a tall structure, and then do a thorough investigation and safety inspection to find out what happened? A lot longer than ten minutes.
Mambas are the fastest moving snakes on the planet, and catching one is a very serious procedure requiring special safety equipment. Doing a safety investigation before re-opening would take even more time.
How long does it take to pick a rough green snake off the roof? About ten minutes, most of which is setting up the ladder carefully so the exhibit doesn't get damaged.
Do the math, folks. It's pretty easy.
