So I guess you would let 10

So I guess you would let 10 hunting dogs live in your house. What is the difference?

you know this really annoys

you know this really annoys me. if a pet can't live inside your house like the rest of your family does, THEN YOU SHOULDN'T OWN A PET. It's disgusting anyone would have an "outside" dog.. At any age much less 13 years old this dog deserves to be cuddled, warm, cared for and not lying in a dirty dog house being degraded their whole lives. the dog probably isn't even vaccinated.

pet

An "outside" dog is fine if it isn't a little wussy poodle or teacup chihuahua. How about a 120 pound German Shepard or a large breed that likes to run, they belong outside as long as they have a fenced yard, shelter and are taken care of. NEVER on a chain.

After all they are "PETS" not human, not children.

Our dogs do live in the

Our dogs do live in the house and they are treated like children. They are very loved. You do not know the situation but until something like this happens to you, then you will just be......

OK, realizing my animals are

OK, realizing my animals are cats and not dogs the basics are the same here. I have a new central a/c I put in 3 yrs ago when I moved here. Guess what? I can't afford to run it now with the cost of gas, food etc. I have 2 fans and ceiling fans I keep running all the time. I have a large covered deck and my cats prefer to lay out on the porch most of the day. They come in sometimes and lay around but I guess they find it warmer in the house than outside as it is not long before they are back on the porch snoozed out. They get their shots when they are suppose to, they have food and water available to them all the time so I would say they are pretty happy hanging out on the porch.

A/C and older souls

Well let me think now,"would you make your grandmother stay outside in the heat to suffer?????" Not to mention would you leave your grandmother outside to live on the porch or in a nasty dog house??????

SHAME ON YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

suffer?

I am in my 40's. We didn't even have A/C till I was 16.......... HELLO? We were not poor either we had a nice NEW house. Back in the 60's house's were built w/o a/c and you got a window unit if you wanted one.

My Grandmother had no problem with it she never had a/c by choice. Dogs are animals they adjust, just like we would if we were not spoiled climate controlled inside humans. Gee what do you do when we have storms and the power is out for days on end? Oh let me guess you hook up your generator to cool your dogs.

A dog that is not kept in the house & yard cannot be kidnapped.

Question:
How can they claim their dog was stolen, when she was allowed to wander?

FACT: A dog that is not kept in a house or a fenced yard is considered a "STRAY" by the law as well as by most people, once it leaves the property of his or her owners.

Poor Chrissie could have been hit by a truck, picked up by someone driving through, or even used in dog-fighting rings.

More questions:
Do you know anyone who forces any family member live on a porch, away from other family members, 365 days ?

Did Chrissie even have identification & current inoculations --or was she really treated like just a piece of property?

I disagree with this reporter, that Chrissie is" where she belongs now."
All the Ohio news reports showed that she had a great indoor home with a family of kids who adored her. I feel sad for that family: it sounds like they gave her excellent medical care, and was truly treatd like one of the family, which is not what she experienced in NC.

Chrissie

Someone needs to educate these so called caring people. Dogs, especially seniors, do not belong outside in humid hot weather. Whoever believes that dogs do not need to be kept cool is really not too smart. Sounds like even after the so called bad experience of loosing their dog, you would think they would want to protect her now. So much for really caring.
People like this do not deserve a pet.

stolen dog

this dog should have never been returned. Dogs do not belong outside on a porch.

Return this dog to the person in Ohio.

Shame on the people that returned this dog to live her life on a hot porch. If this family loved this dog so much then she would have lived inside with her family not left to burn up in the heat in a dirty dog house.

This is just SAD!!!

Why...

would you return the dog to a thief! Jim Willis broke the law, was caught and punished...end of story.

Jim may operate under the guise of being an animal rights activist, but in the end, he is what he is...a thief!

Kim

Where do you think dogs live in the wild? Where do you think our domesticated dogs came from? Dogs love it outside. The porch is covered. She did not say the dog stays there 24/7, it hangs out there by choice. It is a dog, an old FAT dog. Looked healthy to me.

RE: STOLEN DOG

There are a lot of dogs who would love to live on a porch and have a dog house. Get over it!

Until 50 years ago or so, no

Until 50 years ago or so, no one even had air conditioning at all. You went outside and sat on the porch to stay cool. Dogs have been around for many thousands of years. Since we've had air conditioning, is it now suddenly inhumane for a dog to be kept outside?

what a mistake

air conditioning yeah right, but we evolve to make our lives comfortable, why not our pets. live outside in a dog house, have you not read studies, dogs left outside without attention love and socialization are the main reasons why people and children are attacked and mauled then its the dogs fault right?? instead of the dogs owner. the dog didnt come from the porch but wander from the garage, sad. to think a pet has been nothing more than a lawn decoration. Fat yeah looked fat now after how long she was with the other women plenty of time to take care of her and get her healthy again. the lady looked fake and distant with her newly reunited dog, didnt look like either of them missed each other. Let the dog decide, put both "owners" together and let the dog chose who she loves not the unenforced laws... she is obviously is older why not a comfy life, same as we hope for when we get older. Instead of being stuck on a porch with their dirty sneakers!!!

Let me Guess

"have you not read studies, dogs left outside without attention love and socialization are the main reasons why people and children are attacked and mauled then its the dogs fault right??"

You got your research off of the PETA site right?

I am in the woods A LOT...foxes, coyotes, bears and bobcats live in the heat and cold ALL YEAR...never can think of a time I was attacked by one of them...don't thing anyone I know has been attacked either.

Guess what..a DOG is...A DOG..it is an animal NOT A HUMAN...I have a dog...I TREAT THEM THAT WAY..

You want to know the most DANGEROUS dogs out there? The ones treated like humans and not like dogs...THOSE are the dangerous ones. My dog is treated like a DOG...sure I talk to her, but she is a DOG FIRST.

You need to go do some more research..what you read is FALSE...YOU FAIL

It's not up to you

You have no idea whether this dog was ignored. He may have been the most loved and cared for dog in the world. Either way, this dog was stolen(kidnapped) from its family by someone who felt they had a right to impose their opinions on someone else. It's not up you to tell how people how to take care of their animals, as long as the people aren't breaking any laws. Even if they were breaking the law, animal control should be called.

As many dogs as are dying in shelters and need a home, wouldn't the thief's attentions be better served finding homes for all those dogs waiting to be euthanized? This dog had a home and a (presumably) loving family.

Stolen dog

TO people that think that dogs belong outside will never know the true meaning of love for an animal.

This dog looks wonderful because the lady in OHio that was taking care of her did a wonderful job. She was treated like one of the family in Ohio.

Now all she will ever know is aloneness out on the porch.

Dogs are pack animals and need their families.

SEND HER BACK TO OHIO!!!!

I agree stand each person side by side and lets just see who she goes to...

Sharee

Her name was Sharee and she was very loved by her mom in Ohio. Who by the way would never leave her on the porch to suffer in the heat. How sad this has all come to be. Sharee going from a loving home inside with her family to living on the porch.

Life is so unfair for this angel. She will never feel a bed or live in A/C. Lets pray that she forgives her family in NC because we know she loves her family in Ohio most of all.

GIVE HER BACK TO HER REAL FAMILY IN OHIO!!!!!
