Troubleshooters: Towing concerns mount

Some folks who were recently towed from outside the Long Leaf Mall Gold's Gym have a particularly frustrating story. Not only were they paying customers, annoyed to be towed while they were working out, but when they went to pick up their cars from the towing company, the women got charged more than the men.

earls wrecker

my car was towed by earls and when I went to pick it up the parking sticker was removed. A friend told me they seen the driver going in my car at Best Buy parking lot. I live in Clear Run apts and have lived there for 2 years. I guess my car being older than others they thought I dont drive it so they just took advantage of me. When I was on the way to Earls I stopped the driver and he collected my money at the parking lot of Hooters. The guy charged me 135.00 and would not give me a receipt. The next day I went to Earls to get a copy of the receipt and Earls said he didnt have a record of my car being towed. If this man didnt have a copy of my money I paid then who got my money? Somebody better investigate the shady business this man and his employees is running....

earls wrecker service

my dad is earl he charges the same thng that i would have you need to read the signs before you park. we charge 100.00 if you get towed from clear run, campus edge is also 100.00. we charge 135.00 - 160.00 from downtown. this is why i now have my own company. my dads other partner is the manager of campus edge and her name is maranda rutledge. makeing money is the name of the game. my dads company set the way for all towing companys in the wilmington aera. hes the one that got the city to let towing companys charge more money. you have company like rosaks towing that are now charging people 35.00 for tows in the city and they are charging 65.00 for tow aways this is why my dad and myself are charging more money. so lets hear it for my pops you are the man. bebop

I hope wway keeps up the good work exposing these towing companies that are holding peoples cars "hostages" and racking up so called storage fees and charging whatever they "feel" like. They have taken advantage of my friends and my kids. It makes me want to go out and get a tow truck and tow all of their vehicles off and hold them until everybody gets a refund.
