A virus has swept through a New Hanover County nursing home, sickening about 100 people.
Charles Long, the Executive Director of Davis Health Care Center on Porters Neck Road, said residents have been getting sick for the past two weeks. It appears to be a 24-hour virus with nausea and diarrhea as the symptoms.
The facility discouraged visitors, as to not spread the sickness. They are not sure how the virus made its way into the nursing home, but the New Hanover County Health Department did get involved.
Long said four residents are sick with the virus right now.
