VOTE 2010: McIntyre makes "major announcement"... - "64 NC Mayors support me"

READ MORE:

UPDATE: Congressman Mike McIntyre held what his campaign called a major news conference today. With the campaign heating up between McIntyre and Ilario Pantano, candidates are out to get attention wherever they can find it.

McIntyre's big announcement was to let the public know 64 Southeastern North Carolina mayors support him. "Public service is about serving the people, the communities, the needs that we stand together on in this wonderful place we call home," said McIntyre.

In front of 11 local mayors and a group of supporters, McIntyre made the announcement on the steps of the New Hanover County Courthouse in downtown Wilmington.

He called out Pantano, saying Pantano told someone in Las Vegas it did not matter which state he was running in. McIntyre said it does make a difference because we need to stand up for our home in Washington. "It matters so much at the very heart of what representative government is about," said McIntyre. "In a democratic society, for the people to speak through a representative, that representative has to know the area, and has to know the towns, and the communities."

Each local mayor who stood behind McIntyre had the chance to explain why they're endorsing him. The 64 mayors endorsing McIntyre come from Bladen, Brunswick, Columbus, Cumberland, Duplin, New Hanover, Pender, Robeson, and Sampson counties.

Juan Williams and McIntyre

It is revolting to watch dems smear this good man for telling the truth--we cant voice concern with illegal immigrants- we cant voice concern with extremists in the muslim community-small numbers that they may be===we cant voice concern with corruptness and arrogance of Pelosi and Reid- we cant point out that Obama is the worst President we have had--he is incompetent with unemployment at 10% and huge bailouts for his labor friends. He can play the race card and fear on social security- and thats fine---we simply cant afford Obama, McIntyre, Soros and his money, Pelosi and Reid-----WE MUST SEND DEMS A MESSAGE THAT THEIR PERFORMANCE AND INTOLERANCE ARE UNACCEPTABLE-- DEFEAT MIKE--ANYBODY ELSE WOULD BE BETTER.

marvelous mike and eric the magnificient

If you see any Panthers guarding your polling location, please do not call the Obama Justice Department. All charges will be dropped for any voter intimidation.
"Political advertizement paid for by the George Soros fund, the DNC, and Media Matters."
This is what we get with Mike-- a biased Justice Department- a mosque at ground zero- and a free pass to illegal immigrants--problem is we all will be paying the bill as a society and from our pockets-not Mike's!
oh well if they legalize marijuana- amybe we can grow here in NC-and then we wont care who we sent to Congress

How did Mike vote with regards to Fannie Mae-Freddie Mac?

The bailout of these boondoggles is now approaching 363 Billion dollars...all the while slobberin' Barney said there's nothing wrong with their fiscal situation.

McIntyre

Did these municipalities authorize the individual mayors to stand up for McIntyre.
Seems like they may have take much for granted in this situation.

It's Time for A Leader!!!

It's Time for A Leader!!! Vote Mike McIntyre OUT 64 MAYORS BACKING HIM.THAT'S NOT SAYING MUCH.

PLEASE VOTE FOR Ilario Pantano. MIKE MCINTYRE SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO USE OUR MONEY TO BY VOTES!!

Good Job!

Good work! The way I see it, this is a list of 64 people to VOTE OUT of office when their terms end... Thanks for making it easy for us! ;)

If I was Mike

Mike if I was you I would indorse Pantano then I would find that ship that your ancestors arived here on 200 years ago get on it and sail back, or sail to California.

Way to go Mike !!Dont let no

Way to go Mike !!Dont let no rich Yankee come down here and try to run things ! We got enough of that already. And hes just like all the other republicans waving the 9-11 banner trying to get a sympathy vote. So what if he was in the military, that dont qualify him for congress.

"It don't?"

The founding fathers said "it do." The only Constitutional requirements are that he be a citizen for the past seven years, reside in the state he intends to represent, and be at least twenty-five years of age.

Take heart! If enough Yankees move down here, your children may some day learn to conjugate the verb "to do."

Where are the Mayors for Pantano?

Pantano has yet to gain the endorsement of ANY elected official from either party. Dean Lambeth of Kure Beach said he received a call from Pantano during the primary but was so "repulsed" by Pantano that he endorsed Breazeale. The fact is that NO MAYOR in our district will support Pantano. He should be in jail, not running for congress. This is one Republican voting for McIntyre.

I am another Democrat voting Republican

I know more Democrats voting Republican than the other way around. We need someone who will push and support the South. I see the Democrats in Congress, doing everything they can to help the BIG Labor states, but nothing for the smaller states. Even with the Health Care they gave the Union's Health Care a pass so they will not be tax on their Big Health Care Plans, everyone else sorry. When was the last time Obama came to the South with his wallet open (taken out of our back pocket) to give out money?

We need Term limits so these guys in Congress can see how it is to work to jobs to support a family. Most of the people in Congress are lawyers and made there money sueing people. Have you notice that there are few Business people there?

I just did a quick addition

I just did a quick addition of how many political subdivisions; cities, towns and townships there are in the counties that make up the 7th Congressional District here in SE North Carolina and I come up with 160...

So, this is the stuff of a major "news CONference"?? That mayors of 40 percent of the political subdivisions Congressmember McIntyre represents support him???

Hmmmmmmmmm

Your math is wrong.

Townships don't have mayors. Then again, this is the same spin machine that counts resolutions congratulating the BCS champions and unanimous votes on adjourning for Christmas as examples of Mike McIntyre voting with Nancy Pelosi, so I guess I shouldn't expect honest math here.

Mike McIntyre is the Senior

Mike McIntyre is the Senior Whip for the Democratic Congress and his job is to "whip up" the votes for whatever Nancy Pelosi says. He DOES work for Pelosi but you will not find any of this information on his website. I wonder why? I am another Democrat voting Republican! Power to the people!!!

You have to understand. . . .

This is not personal. . . it's business. . . YOUR BUSINESS... MY BUSINESS. The country is in a deplorable state.. financially, morally, socially, politically. No one is doing anything for us . . rather the democrats are fighting the republicans and vice versa. It's not about you and I it's all about party against party. If someone was handling your check book and paying your bills like our government is paying and spending you would have dropped kicked them out the door looooooong ago. Incumbants have been in office far too long and we continue to spiral downward. They have got to go. We need someone else who can get in their places and try to change things. What we have and have had for years is just the same as what we'll have if McIntyre and all the other incumbants get back in office. GET THEM OUT NOW !!! IT'S NOT PERSONAL IT'S OUR BUSINESS, OUR LIVELYHOOD, OUR FAMILIES, OUR VERY LIVES AT STATE HERE. STOP THE PETTY HE SAID, SHE SAID, GET REAL AND ACT LIKE YOU HAVE SOME D --- SENSE.

Mayor Endorsement

Let's see. Sixty Four Mayors from across North Carolina (vast majority from this region) endorse Mike McIntyre. Hmmmm!!! Does that mean the other Mayors from across North Carolina and this region do not. This is an expected statement from a polished politician that is feeling the heat.

64 mayors support Mike...

well, there's 64 votes you might get.

Mike holds the federal checkbook !

Their allegiances are tied to Mike holding the federal checkbook and they are hedging their bets that the career politician will hold on to his seat. Bringing home the pork ( the taxpayer 's money for REDISTRIBUTION ) is a part of the flawed system that needs serious reform. Reform the tax system and you take away the power from the politician. The checks Mike McIntyre presents to these local municipalities technicality should bounce due to INSUFFICIENT FUNDS in the American taxpayer's account.America is bankrupt therefore there are no funds for redistribution ( pork). His photo ops holding checks with " HIS NAME ON THEM " portrays him as the good guy to these local municipalities , which I am sure are grateful. If you look across the economic landscape of southeastern N.C , these mayors and Congressman Mike McIntyre have not stimulated the economy PRIOR to the economic downturn. Many local municipalities are under incompetent leadership ( i.e Bill Saffo , Wilmington ) therefore any assistance from the federal level is welcome. If he had A PLAN FOR SUCCESS don't you think he would have unveiled ideas for economic development. Expect the cheap rhetoric and status quo with Mike McIntyre to continue. The pork is a convenient way for him to garner positive PR in his name and win praise from his peers .

WHO CARES MIKE? VOTE FOR REPUBLICANS THIS YEAR

ISSUES- I REPEAT ISSUES-ONE MORE TIME--ISSUES.
DEMOCRATS LIKE MARVELOUS MIKE CANT TALK ISSUES-SO THEY TELL US ABOUT THERE SUPPORTERS- THE DEMS SMEAR CAMDIDATES AT ALL LEVELS- BUT ON THE ISSUES- TAXES- SPENDING- HEALTH CARE- STATE GOVERNMENT AND COUNTY GOVERNMENT-ALL WE GET ARE MISLEADINGS ADS AND DOUBLE SPEAK.
WE LOSE IF THEY WIN--WE WIN IF THESE DEMS AND MIKE LOSE.
A LOT IS AT STAKE AT NATIONAL-STATE AND LOCAL LEVEL-
VOTE PANTANO-GOOLSBY-JUSTICE-DAWSON-BERGER AND KENNEDY-THEY ARE ALL MUCH BETTER ON ISSUES

why not to vote for Mike

2 words Nancy Pelosi .... If you need to know more ... here is some of her comments from Monday to the United Steelworkers Union. "We’re talking about addressing the disparity of income where the wealthy people continue to get wealthier and some other people are falling out of the middle class when we want to bring many more people into the middle class. But that disparity is not just about wages alone, that disparity is about ownership and equity. It’s all about fairness in our country…"

Look at the big picture people!

huh?

And the problem with this is??? Is there a better version of fairness? Seems like republican=greed.

Bye bye Mike!

Pantano is taken over! Go Republicans!

Will someone do the math?

How many mayors are there in all of Mike's district? Once that number is known, then we'll know what percentage of the mayors support him. Most likely, it will be those to whom he's handed a cardboard check.

Maybe he's cutting his

Maybe he's cutting his office workers salaries to help save taxpayer money.

One of his Wilmington office people gets over 6000 a month.

Phone number please

Would someone give him Liz Doles phone number. He's going to need a job real soon.

Pantano

Concession??!!? Pantano doesn't have a CHANCE, regardless of what McIntyre announces. GO MIKE, you've got MY vote, can't wait to hear what you have to say.

DEMS WIN WE ALL LOSE

NO WAY= DEM SMEAR AND FEAR TACTICS AND THEIR TERRIBLE AND ARROGANT TRACT RECORD MAKE US LOSERS IF THEY PREVAIL-
WE CAN DO BETTER
WE NEED TO DO BETTER
WE WILL DO BETTER-

VOTE REPUBLICAN ALL THE WAY-VOTE REPUBLICAN ALL THE WAY
PANTANO-GOOLSBY-JUSTICE-BERGER-CATLIN AND KENNEDY
