Wallace teenager in critical condition

READ MORE:
A trip to the lake left a Wallace teenager in critical condition. The Wallace assistant town manager says late yesterday afternoon, 14-year-old Andre Williams was swimming in Lake Leamon. He panicked, and a lifeguard had to go in after him. The lifeguard performed CPR on the scene, and Williams was taken to Duplin General Hospital and then airlifted to Pitt Memorial in Greenville. We are told the teen was at the lake with a group of friends.

There was not a lifeguard On Duty

I am outraged that someone would lie to cover such tragegy. I was there at the Lake and There was no lifeguard!! A group of young men got him out of the water and one black man which was with his family next to my family and friends started CPR. Another lady from the beach assisted. Also,my friend helped. No One wanted to help. I stood by on stand by. The Lake's staff was no where to be found. They did not try to clear the crowd away, they did not offer any assistance what so ever. They let these teenagers just jump off platforms and do whatever they want. I knew an accident was waiting to happen. With that many teenagers jumping and carrying on there should have been a lifeguard there. I understand it is swim at your own risk, but when you charge people to swim, you should make an effort to reduce risk. There are far to many children there without parents not to take percautions. Is a child's life really worth saving a buck.
