Watchdog claims CFPUA overstepped its authority. What do you think?

As a result of a major water main break, the Cape Fear Public Utility Authority issued a number of emergency alerts on July 23rd.

The 8pm alert (Friday) threatened customers with police enforcement for violation of their mandatory water restrictions. Problem is, the CFPUA is claiming police powers they don’t have…..

Just the facts mam......

The blog is right. It's not really an opinion, it's fact. The WPD and NHC Sheriff do not enforce CFPUA Code. The Authtority knows that. That line in the press release was an intention fabrication on behalf of the CFPUA to mislead the public. It's a shame they have to lie to us. This ain't the first time, though. How can we trust anything this organization tells us?

I think...

that they DID overstep. Frankly, I don't think they have any idea of what they're doing. Also, what if people don't have televisions or computers, etc. .... what's the plan on notifying them about possible contamination? It just seems that between the old pipe and the water conservation thing, that they're disorganized and quite arrogant to boot.
