For all those who comment on stories/polls like this with a "yankeefied" comment can just go back home if they don't like how we do things down here. The road that got you here can take you back. It is just amazing to me how yankees keep coming here whenever all they do is complain and talk about how much better things are up north. Y'all can either go back or stop complaining and comparing things; if you choose to stay, all I can say is welcome to the best place on Earth...THE SOUTH!

The media keeps us informed of the tropical systems from the start so that everyone can be prepared and hopefully some lives get saved. The more informed people are in the hurricane-prone areas, the more lives that get saved. I suppose you would just rather the media ignore the things completely and wipe us all off the map? Whether you realize it or not, these things are serious business and those of us that have grown up here know what they can do from a depression or tropical storm dumping tons of rain to the full-blown hurricanes that cause all kinds of destruction. And if you don't like how we do things, I will gladly give you directions to I-95 north.

They stay home and enjoy the rare snow day and enjoy a nice day off. It's transplants who feel the need to show their, ahem, "expertise" at driving in snow. All the while forgetting that what we get here is mostly ice and you don't really drive on it - you just sort of slide to your destination. It's ironic that on most snow days here, it's transplants sliding into poles while screaming that Southerners cant' drive into snow!

I have lived here all of my life and over the years it is WWAY's team of meteorologists that I have come to trust the most. One example that comes to mind is Hurricane Bonnie. Everyone but WWAY was going with the more northerly track while WWAY predicted that it was going to turn at the last minute and guess what, it did. So whether he "sensationalizes" or not, he knows his stuff.

This type of question involves no choice.....come on! Hurricane or Snow storm??? What kind of choices are those? Especially where we live.....I like your polls but give them a little more thought. Thanks.
You know those snowstorms are known to be dangerous killers lurking around every dark corner. That is why I usually carry a blow torch with me in the winter.

No Weather freaks me out, I
No Weather freaks me out, I love bad weather i pry for it just as long as it dont hurt no one
It's a toss up -
Between southerners driving in snowstorms and the media over-hyping a moderate tropical storms 1100 miles away.
The media keeps us informed

Southerners Don't Drive In Snowstorms

I just want to know who
I just want to know who comes up with the poll questions and answers? It has to be a Yankee...these things get really silly if you have ever noticed.
Local weather reporting
Local weather reporting (i.e. Jerry Jackson) seems to sensationalize the weather reporting.

Hurricane or snowstorm?
Isn't that similar to "Which freaks you out the most?"
A. A fully loaded, Air Force KC-10 refueler crashing into your house
B. Your son's Bigwheel bumping the garage door
No comparison!
Very dangerous
You know those snowstorms are known to be dangerous killers lurking around every dark corner. That is why I usually carry a blow torch with me in the winter.
I wish you could have added
I wish you could have added SEVERE thunderstorm with tornado watches/warnings so I could have voted. THATS what "freaks me out" most
Weather
Weather does not cause me any concerns; but "news" people trying to make a story about it do.
