The Calabash VFW Post 7288 invites you to its Lenten Fish Fry.
It's from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday night. Plates are $9.

Let the squeals begin. Saturday, One Tree Hill stars will be signing autographs at the Walmart on Sigmon Road in Wilmington. It's from noon -- 2 p.m. The $20 fee helps raise money for the Officer Down Memorial Wall Project.

Parents protect your child Saturday with a family ID and safety event at Independence Mall.
It's from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. It takes place by the carousel.

Men get a free health screening Saturday morning at the International Longshoreman's Association Center at 1305 S. 5th Ave. It's from 8 a.m. -- noon. Free screenings include glucose and cholesterol tests.

Some brave souls will jump into the Atlantic to raise money for the Special Olympics Saturday.
It's from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Carolina Beach Boardwalk. You have to raise $50 to plunge.

Who has the best skills? Wilmington Police or New Hanover County Sheriff's Deputies?
They go head to head on the hardwood Saturday for the 17th annual Big Buddy Shootout.
It's at 3 p.m. at Williston Middle School. Tickets are $8 at the door.

It's a feeding frenzy at the Children's Museum of Wilmington Saturday night. 116 Orange St.
There will be music and a silent auction. It's from 6:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. Admission is $45.

Pet lovers clear your calendars Sunday. Monty's Home Pet Expo comes to the Cape Fear Community College Schwartz Center. It's from 11 a.m. -- 4 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults.

Don't miss the Coastal Womens' Show Sunday. It's from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. at the Southport Community Building. Admission is $3.

A group that promotes Autism Awareness is holding "Everybody's Birthday Party" at Carolina Gymnastics. It's Sunday from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. Tickets are $10 per child, up to the age of 16.
