Get into the spirit of the holiday during the Tenth Annual Holiday Boutique in Southport this weekend. More than sixty artists will be there and admission is free. It is from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. The Winter Jazz Season gets underway Friday night with the Frank Bongiorno Trio. Grab your chairs and head over to the New Hanover County Government Center. It starts at 6:00 p.m. and ends at 8:00 p.m. Take in some art while providing food to our area food bank with the Second Annual Fill the Cupboard Art Show at Fast Frame. It kicks off Friday with a reception from 5:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Food and financial donations will be accepted. Drive to Leland Saturday to watch police officers take on firefighters in the Fourth Annual Santa Cop Softball Game. The game takes place at the Northwest Ball Field on Highway 74/76, near the Leland Industrial Park. It starts at 1:00 p.m. The cost of admission is one new, unwrapped toy valued at $10 or more. Men speaking out against violence toward women will be walking a mile in her shoes, by literally walking in women’s heels throughout downtown Wilmington. It starts at 10:00 a.m. at Elijah’s Saturday. Lace up your walking shoes. Saturday, it's the 2nd Annual Memory Walk to raise funds for Alzheimer’s. It starts at 10:00 a.m. at Hugh MacRae Park. Get there at 8:30 a.m. to register. On Sunday, it's a Walk for Ellie; an eight year old girl battling a rare pediatric cancer. It begins at 2:00 p.m. at Wrightsville Beach Park. The walk is $10 for adults. All proceeds will be donated to the Ellie Shoals Potvin Fund. Also Sunday, UNCW students have come together to walk and raise money for a former classmates husband, who was critically injured while serving our country. The 5k takes place at Hugh MacRae Park starting at 10:00 a.m. A BBQ fundraiser starts at noon and runs until 4:00 p.m. A ten dollar donation is requested.
