Wilmington is still a Coast Guard City

Wilmington is still a "Coast Guard City". The Commandant of the U.S. Coast Guard gave the Port City the designation today. U.S. Congressman Mike McIntyre said Wilmington has long been affiliated with the Coast Guard, and the designation shows the Coast Guard is an integral part of the community. Wilmington has been a "Coast Guard City" since 2003.
