Wilmington man sentenced on federal drug crimes

A Wilmington man will spend more than 13 years in prison on a federal drug conviction. A judge sentenced 61-year-old Windell Norwood Hicks in an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force investigation called Operation Monarch.

Prosecutors say Hicks ran Ruth's Grocery Store in Wilmington, where he sold drugs, including heroin, to other dealers.
