Woman Accused of Scamming Small Businesses

BRUNSWICK COUNTY--A crime alert for local businesses. Brunswick county authorities are looking for a woman they say is scamming businesses out of thousands of dollars, and it seems Kristal A. Hill is a pro.

Hill is accused of selling fake advertising space, such as billboard ads, to small businesses. Once the company cuts her a check, she allegedly takes the money and runs.

Police say she has swindled $4,000 from Fulford Heating and Air in Holden Beach and Milligan, Power and Lawn equipment in Shallotte. Hill is also accused of fraud in Wake County, Guilford County, and Randolph County.
