Woman killed in early-morning shooting

I can't believe how many comments have gone to this article. More than any breast cancer awareness or recession article; hopefully it shows the local politicans that we want to preserve Creekwood....as it serves a great purpose! I'll donate more tax money to keep the thugs in their own neighborhood. Kids in my neighborhood may egg a car or prank call the pizza company, but let's keep the crack in Crackwood!

So, Crackwood is in the news again. Amazing stuff. What do you expect of escapee's from the zoo? When you set up a place that has no hope of EVER being part of the civilized community, you have to expect the inmates of the place to be uncivilized. I say we should build a lead-lined wall about 50 feet high around the place and use it as a low-yield nuclear test facility. We would use the use of the area for awhile, but what the heck, decent people can't use it anyway. After all, if there are decent people living there, they should be the ones to run the thugs out. Guess what people, IT AIN'T HAPPENIN.

I think we need to go with an "escape from NY" attitude here... take ALL the scum from all around wilmington, clear the good people out of creekwood and house them all there. Then BUILD A 100 FOOT WALL AROUND CREEKWOOD AND KEEP THEM ALL INSIDE. Crime will drop in Wilmington drastically.

My condolesences to the family of this young lady. Losing a loved one is hard, but to have it happen in such a senseless way is beyond belief. To the family, may God help strengthen you through this time and comfort you in the days ahead. To the neighbors - if you saw anything, let the police know! Sure you're scared - but ask yourselves: if that was my sister, wife, cousin, or whatever, wouldn't I want someone to step forward with information? Yes, you would!!!! People like these two "alleged" murderers feed on the fact that people aren't going to talk because they are scared! That is what keeps them doing what they do - no repercussions. People of Creekwood - take back your community from these low-lifes and get rid of them once and for all. Nothing can bring her back, but justice can help the family and friends of this young lady bring some peace to their lives. The freedoms of our society were given to us by people who were willing to step up and do what they had to do, even death, to make us free! Respect yourselves and your community by helping catch these people. Your life and that of others may very well depend on it!

Maybe we need to encapsulate Creekwood after we have gotten the good people out and then we can put all gangs in there together. Give them food, drugs, alcohol, and smokes in short supply and the numbers would dwindle. Gangs are a plague on civil society and we need a new and stronger medicine to cure it. Operation Hammer

my child is in the temporary school(winter park) near creekwood. i'm considering pulling her out of the school not the fault of the school or the staff it's the area. if the police can't control that area at 3 am what chance do the children have at 2:30 pm?? my wife and child drive past the goverment housing eachday. wilmington police , PUT AN END TO THIS!! and if you can't WHY??? you are the law and odrder that law abiding citiczens count on.. inocent children are at risk.

what to say to anyone who is surprised by this happening AGAIN in creekwood...i agree that it should be torn down and that until it is there should be a curfew instated...i mean, jesus , how many people have to be killed or victimized, innocent or not, before something is done about these high crime areas???

These killers are KNOWN to SOMEONE in that community. They weren't hanging out there for the heck of it, and it wasn't the first time they've been out there. Anyone with any knowledge of these people MUST come forward. Creekwood residents...take your community back from thugs, drug dealers and murderers.

So uhm yeh..If police have to respond to Creekwood with riot gear and at least 2 deep... Isnt it time for that crime haven to be torn down? Creekwood is crapwood..... My thoughts n prayers to the victims family...

This is a tragedy. Michelle ran an intranet business fairly close to that location. Why she was in that area I cannot answer. I do wish people would hold reserve on the comments until the facts come out but it is America and I agree with free speech. I loved this girl with all my heart and will miss her very very much. She worked at the Carolina Beach fishing pier for a long time and will be missed by people that enjoyed her ever present smile. Michelle I trust you are in heaven, you're cousin down here at the NC/SC border will miss you !! :O(:::::::::::::::::::
