Woman moving after third break-in

READ MORE: Woman moving after third break-in
NEW HANOVER COUNTY -- A local woman is fed up after her Castle Hayne home was broken into Monday night. This is the third time in a year her property has been violated. Crime has become very personal for her. Sandra Wilson says she's had enough. She and her family are even ready to move away. They're not going to wait around for it to happen again. Monday night Wilson left her home for about 45 minutes. She certainly didn't expect to come home to drawers ripped out of bureaus, rooms ransacked and valuables missing. Wilson said, "They took a lot of stuff that I've had for years and I value. A lot of stuff was given by my kids for Christmas." Wilson says it's the third time her property has been violated in the past year -- three times too many. Wilson said, "I have to go. It's time to go. I've got no trespassing signs up, I've got a camera. It's a shame you have to live like this. It's a shame." Wilson installed home security cameras after the previous incidents. The New Hanover County Sheriff's Office is examining the footage. Wilson lives with her children and grandchildren. They're also ready to leave. One neighbor wonders whether teenagers could have been involved, saying "They're running through people's backyards, throwing trash all through the neighborhood. They just don't have anything to occupy their time that's constructive." Police are investigating, but Sandra Wilson warns, "It could to happen to anybody and everybody. I don't care where you move or where you live, it happens." One witness copied down a license plate from a suspicious vehicle. That information was given to the New Hanover County Sheriff's Office. If you have any information, please call the sheriff's office at 341-4255.
