Wright won't be reappointed to committees

WILMINGTON -- Wilmington lawmaker Rep. Thomas Wright has lost his chance for reappointment to five different committees on which he had previously served. House Speaker Joe Hackney opted not to renew Wright's appointments to the committees on government oversight, health care, capital improvements, information technology and utility regulation. Wright is the subject of a criminal probe about misuse of his campaign funds. Speaker Hackney is one of many high ranking officials who have asked Rep. Wright to resign. So far Wright has refused.

Wright Not Re-Appointed

What's left? Now the Honorable(?) Mr. Wright has his seat but no real authority. Not being re-appointed to 5 key committees which have the potential for direct impact on his district; and his response is to not answer his phone or respond to the allegations when presented the opportunity. Even the NAACP, during its recent visit to Wilmington, chose not to demean itself by requesting his presence for a speech. Isn't the Honorable(?) Mr. Wright the legislator who attempted to sponsor a bill to bring attention to the 1898 discord which was such a topic at the NAACP convention? If the Legislature will not take action; and the legal beagles are going to take their sweet time on this; and Mr. Wright will not do the honorable thing by resigning, isn't there some type of recall action available to the unrepresented populace? When does enough become too much?

Recall, Ha Ha !

In politics, ,it doesn't matter if you're caught with you hand in the cookie jar. Politicians have to be caught eating the cookie, even then the penalty will be nothing compared to what Joe Public would receive.

Enough is enough!

When are they going to move forward enuff to criminally indict Wright? He needs to go and the longer he stays, the less service he is able to do for the people that he serves representative too.

long enough

It has taken long enough for the house of cards chuckles has built to start falling down.
