Our WWAY Holiday Miracles effort took quite an unexpected turn this year, just like many people's lives. Last year we helped a handful of families in bigger ways. This year was different. We were overwhelmed with hundreds of letters. Our management whittled them down to 22. There were some Nintendo Wii and iPhone requests, but the letters our managers selected were much more basic than that. Neighbors wrote in on behalf of neighbors in trouble. Brandi Kerns explained, "To us they're just like family so we want to help them anyway we can. This is going to amaze them. Books, coloring books, a gift card for mom and dad." Small things, basic things; that's all they wanted. WWAY employees each took a letter and focused on individual families, shopping and wrapping, and sometimes delivering. WWAY was able to help 22 families this year thanks to sponsors Crescent City Bank, Chic Fil' A, Perry's Emporium, and Blitz Research. We've also been able to link other families with some of you who've offered to help on your own.
